Gorontalo — The Faculty of Letters and Culture (FSB) of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG) continues to strengthen its international academic environment by welcoming an international student from Timor-Leste. The arrival of this international student reflects FSB UNG’s commitment to expanding access to higher education while strengthening academic networks and cross-border collaboration.

The student is Nevio Filipe De Jesus Ximenes, a regular student from Timor-Leste who will pursue his studies in the English Language Education Department, Faculty of Letters and Culture, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo.

Nevio is a recipient of the Affirmation Scholarship, with a maximum study period of eight semesters. His presence at FSB UNG is expected not only to provide him with valuable academic experience but also to create opportunities for cultural interaction and knowledge exchange between Indonesian and international students.

As an English Language Education student, Nevio will participate in various academic activities alongside his fellow students. Such interactions are an important part of creating an open, inclusive, and globally oriented learning environment.

The arrival of a student from Timor-Leste also marks an important step for FSB UNG in advancing the internationalization of higher education. An academic environment that brings together students from different countries and cultural backgrounds can enrich the learning experience, enhance cross-cultural communication skills, and broaden students’ perspectives on the development of language and education at the global level.
